A Keithville man is in the Caddo Parish jail charged with sex crimes involving a juvenile, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

John Steins, 42, was arrested on Monday after an investigation into allegations that he had inappropriately touched a juvenile girl on more than one occasion. The child disclosed the information to a teacher, who then alerted authorities.

Investigating detective Jared Marshall booked Steins into the Caddo Correctional Center for sexual battery and oral sexual battery.
