Caddo sheriff's detectives arrested a man for possessing thousands of dollars in property stolen from a Bossier City business, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Freddie M. Widmer, 41, of Shreveport, surrendered at the Caddo Correctional Center Wednesday night and was booked into jail for illegal possession of stolen things over $1,500.
Caddo Detective Terry Richardson said Widmer was in possession of $231,600 in oil field valves and fittings stolen earlier this year from Bell Supply Company in Bossier City. Widmer leased property in the 9500 block of Wallace Lake Road in Caddo Parish where the stolen property was stored. When questioned about the equipment, Widmer provided invoices which were later determined to be bogus.
An investigation was initiated earlier this year by Bossier City Police into the actual theft of the property. Two suspects were charged. Go Back
