Caddo deputies arrested a Shreveport man for criminal mischief and filing a false report after he lied about being the victim of a sexual assault.

Devallon Leroy Newhouse, 46, of the 3100 block of Iberville Ave., went to a local hospital this morning and claimed he had been sexually assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by two male hitchhikers whom he picked up on Wednesday. He later admitted that he made up the story to keep his girlfriend from learning that he had used her car to spend the day with another woman.

Newhouse was issued a misdemeanor summons by Sheriff's Detective Donnie Laney.
