Community Invited to Take Part in Initiative to End Gun Violence
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office calls on neighbors to come together for My Brother’s Keeper, a community-driven initiative to raise awareness and take a stand against gun violence. The event will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71118.
The program is designed to bring residents, families, and local organizations together in solidarity, offering resources and encouragement to end the cycle of violence in our communities. The featured guest speaker will be Moms on a Mission, an organization committed to uplifting and empowering mothers who have lost a child to violence. Moms on a Mission not only supports grieving families but also provides mentorship and youth programs that foster character development and leadership skills.
The Trail Lizards Jeep Club will also be on site with a special Jeep Show. The family-oriented group and its members promote safe recreation and community involvement.
The event is free and open to the public. All residents are encouraged to attend, connect with local resources, and stand together in support of safer communities. To register for the event, please call 318-698-7233.
