Early this morning, Caddo Parish Patrol Deputies investigated a two-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality, as reported by Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.

At 1:35 AM on June 1, deputies responded to a collision between a red truck and an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 79 and Buncombe Road in Bethany, Louisiana. According to the deputies, the red truck was traveling southbound on LA Highway 79 when it drifted into the northbound lanes, striking the 18-wheeler.

Caddo Fire District 3 arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver of the red truck deceased. The driver of the 18-wheeler was treated on the scene and released. Deputies have since reopened both lanes of traffic on LA Highway 79.
