Stonewall man was arrested after a pursuit that spanned across two parishes
On May 25, 2025, at approximately 3:26 PM, Caddo Patrol Deputies were informed that the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office was pursuing a red motorcycle traveling northbound on Mansfield Road. The bike was soon spotted by Sgt. Pierce, Dep. Normand, and Cpl. Childress, who then joined the chase. After the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) became involved, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office (DPSO) discontinued their pursuit. The CPSO deputies continued the chase until the motorcycle came to a stop at the intersection of Southern Avenue and East 78th Street.
The suspect, 28-year-old Bradley Scott Burgess, was riding his motorcycle when he slowed down, dismounted, and attempted to flee on foot. Deputy Normand quickly apprehended him, securing him with handcuffs without any incidents. During a search of Burgess, deputies found a handgun in his possession. Throughout the pursuit, he ran multiple red lights and exceeded the speed limit by more than 25 mph on several occasions. Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Burgess was subsequently transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on the following charges:
1. LRS 14:69 - Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (Felony) - motorcycle valued at $7,500
2. LRS 14:108.1C - Aggravated Flight from an Officer (Felony)
