Barksdale Federal Credit Union and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office are partnering to host a shredding event designed to help protect citizens from identity theft.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport. Community members are encouraged to bring unwanted documents that contain sensitive information for secure on-site shredding by a professional shredding company. Each participant may bring a maximum of three boxes or bags of paper for destruction.

Suggested items for shredding include old tax documents, canceled or unused checks, credit cards, medical bills, investment account statements, and any other materials containing sensitive information.
