Caddo Sheriff's deputies investigate fatality
Late last night, Caddo Parish patrol deputies investigated a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.
At 8:00 PM on March 4, deputies responded to a three-vehicle collision involving an eighteen-wheeler and two passenger vehicles in the 9500 block of LA Highway 79. According to the deputies, a gray sedan traveling southbound on Highway 79 turned in front of the northbound eighteen-wheeler, resulting in a crash. The impact propelled the gray sedan into a second vehicle that was following closely behind.
Caddo Fire District 3 arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver of the gray sedan deceased. The driver of the eighteen-wheeler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Willis Knighton North, located at 2600 Greenwood Road in Shreveport. Additionally, the driver and a child from the second vehicle were transported to Ochsner/LSU Health at 1501 Kings Highway in Shreveport with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
