Three are in custody following an early morning armed robbery
Caddo Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning in north Caddo Parish. According to Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr., three men are now in custody in connection with the incident.
The robbery took place shortly after 8:30 AM on February 23, in the 100 block of Pines Street in Oil City. A male victim reported that three men broke into his home and struck him repeatedly on the head with a weapon, causing him to lose consciousness. He regained consciousness just as the suspects were leaving the scene. The suspects stole a gaming console, a handgun, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.
Shortly after the robbery, deputies were dispatched to the 5700 block of Belcher/Oil City Road in response to a single-vehicle rollover crash possibly involving the the suspects' vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies encountered three males who matched the description of the armed robbery suspects. Inside the crashed vehicle, they found a black backpack containing a gaming console and a firearm that matched the victim's handgun.
CPSO Investigator Chris Morgan interviewed two of the suspects, Sastavion Polk, 29, and Lorenzo Oliver, 43, after reading them their Miranda rights. Both suspects admitted to being in the area at the time of the armed robbery.
Sastavion Polk was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a stolen firearm. Lorenzo Oliver was charged with armed robbery. Both Polk and Oliver were transported to the Caddo Correctional Center to be booked on the aforementioned charges.
The third suspect, Charles Watson Jr., 31, was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center due to three outstanding warrants from Garrison County, Texas, which include charges for escape while arrested, confined felony, and evading arrest. Further charges are pending against him.
The investigation is ongoing.
