Caddo Sheriff's deputies are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred this morning, February 18, in North Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.

The accident took place shortly after 10:00 AM on the railroad tracks near Trey Way and Puala Kay Place, just outside Blanchard, Louisiana. Deputies reported that witnesses observed a man walking alongside the tracks. As a train approached, he stepped into its path. The train attempted to stop but was unable to do so in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the individual.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the victim's name will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
