Caddo Parish Patrol deputies are currently investigating a vehicle crash that resulted in the death of an individual on the morning of January 11, as reported by Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. 

A crash occurred just before 8:00 a.m. on LA Highway 171 (Mansfield Road) at the intersection with New Moon Drive. According to deputies, a dark-colored pickup truck was traveling southbound when a dark-colored SUV pulled out in front of it from New Moon Drive, causing a collision between the two vehicles.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Shreveport Fire Department. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Ochsner/LSU Health (1501 Kings Highway) by the Shreveport Fire Department and is reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
