What goes up must come down: CPSO warns against New Year's Eve gunfire
Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. and the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office are warning the citizens of Caddo Parish about the dangers of celebratory gunfire this New Year's Eve.
As we prepare to welcome in 2025, the CPSO urges everyone to keep our skies bullet-free. There are many ways to celebrate the holiday, but shooting into the air for fun should not be one of them.
Celebratory gunfire is not only extremely dangerous, but it may also violate state laws or parish ordinances.
"Please remember, those bullets don't just disappear," said Sheriff Whitehorn. "What goes up must come down. Don't risk taking someone's life by carelessly shooting into the air."
If you hear gunfire or see something suspicious, please call 911 or the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office immediately at 318-675-2170.
