Caddo Sheriff Launches Agreement with Shreveport Police to Increase Patrols in City

Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr. and Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith will announce the launch of a joint operation in south Shreveport. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) and the Shreveport Police Department have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that allows CPSO deputies to patrol and respond to calls for service in designated areas of the city. 

Deputies will provide 24/7 law enforcement coverage for the southern portion of Bert Kouns, extending from Hwy 80 (near I-20) to Ellerbe Road. This agreement will remain in effect until December 2024. 

A news conference is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Monday, October 28, in the Media Conference Room at 505 Travis Street, Suite 700.
