Caddo man arrested for attempted second degree homicide
Caddo Deputies were dispatched to the 10000 block of Buncombe Rd at 2053hrs, where the victim reported that her son, Fredrick D. Washington, 43, had set fire to their home while she was still inside the residence. While the victim was attempting to extinguish the fire, Washington stole her vehicle.
Later that evening, the victim's vehicle was seen speeding on Westport Avenue. Deputies searched the area and quickly found the stolen vehicle at the PETRO Truck Stop at 6910 W Bert Kouns/Industrial Loop, Shreveport, LA. The vehicle was unoccupied. Deputies then spotted the suspect walking between parked tractor-trailers in the back parking lot.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and the State Fire Marshal charged Washington with attempted second degree homicde, and the Caddo deputies charged him with theft of a motor vehicle.
Washington was transported to Caddo Correction Center, where he was booked for the above charges.
