Detectives, along with patrol deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, apprehended a man and a woman who fired shots at a house in the 10000 block of Linwood Avenue, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.

On August 16 at 3:25 pm, deputies arrived at the scene and discovered that Samantha Logan, 29 years old, from the 6900 block of Buncombe Road, had exited a black truck and fired one round into the ground in the victim's front yard. She then re-entered the vehicle. The driver, Xavier Nelson, 37 years old, from the 4700 block of Pinehill Road, then fired multiple rounds, hitting the victim's residence and vehicle, before fleeing the scene. Deputies tried to locate the two individuals but were unsuccessful at the time of the incident.

Later that evening, a detective received a lead that the two individuals might be at an unknown address on Corbitt Street in Shreveport, LA. The detectives spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspects' vehicle they were driving at the time of the incident passing them on Hearne Avenue. They followed the vehicle to I-20 eastbound, and a short pursuit unfolded. The vehicle stopped a few minutes later at the Louisiana Boardwalk. The driver, Xavier Nelson, fled on foot towards Bass Pro Shop, where the Bossier City Police apprehended him. The passenger of the vehicle, Derrick Harris, remained in the vehicle. Xavier was arrested and taken to Bossier City’s jail and then transferred to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Detective Office. He was then booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts), Aggravated Assault with a Firearm (Two Counts), Illegal Possession of Stolen Property, Aggravated Criminal Property Damage (Two Counts), and Violating a Protection Order.
