The camp took place at the Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy, where campers were paired with certified deputies for activities on the firing range, focusing on firearms handling and instruction.

The camp was established years ago to teach children about gun safety, especially those who have never handled a firearm before. One of the main activities at the camp involved practicing and competing in target shooting using .22 caliber rifles.
