The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred during a high-speed pursuit earlier today.

At 3:20 p.m., Caddo Sheriff’s deputies were called to assist the Vivian Police Department in apprehending the driver of a stolen white 2013 Buick Lacrosse. The Vivian officer spotted the Buick traveling north on Highway 1 at high speeds, reaching up to 100 miles per hour at times and began the pursuit. The chase came to an end when the Buick turned right onto Highway 168 and crashed in a curve.

The car was reported stolen by the Shreveport Police Department, and a pistol was seized from the vehicle during the incident.

The identity of the suspect is currently unknown.  He was airlifted to Ochsner Medical for treatment of his injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
