Red River Rescue
The Caddo and Red River parish sheriff's offices located a missing Keithville woman this morning after forming a combined agency search party, said Sheriff Jay Long.
The woman was last seen leaving her residence in Caddo Parish on Monday evening around 5 p.m. Caddo deputies investigating her disappearance obtained information overnight from the manufacturer of the woman's vehicle indicating her car might be near the Red River Bridge in Coushatta. Red River deputies were dispatched to the area where the vehicle was located unoccupied and unlocked near the boat launch.
The Red River Sheriff's Office organized a multi-agency search of the area, which included assistance from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Red River Fire Protection District. Soon afterward, Red River Fire personnel located the woman standing in a marshy area of the river approximately one mile south of the bridge.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No foul play is suspected.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office extends its gratitude to the Red River Sheriff's Office and all other first responder agencies that took part in the search effort. Thanks to everyone's prompt actions and teamwork, we were able to locate the missing person and bring them home, said Sheriff Long.
