Class 56 Graduate from Caddo Sheriff's Academy

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office held graduation exercises today for Class 56 of the Caddo Sheriff's Regional Training Academy, said Sheriff Jay Long. The ceremony took place at Calvary Baptist Church.

 A total of 22 cadets successfully graduated from the academy and are now fully prepared to serve the citizens in their community. The graduates are: Iriannah Barnhill, Tywon Bennett, Ladevion Hill, Landon Irby, Cori Normand, Robert Owens, Martin Schaefer, Lisa Sisk, Ja'Kaylin White, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office; Kenneth Larsen, Christerpher Porter, Chelsea Rhymes, Bossier City Police Department; Ladarius Daniels, Claiborne Parish Sheriff's Office; Gerald Johnson, Coushatta Police Department; Amandia Hamilton, Cullen Police Department; Fabian Carter-Randle Grambling City Police Department; Tiffany McLendon, Lakeyla Williams, LSU Health Shreveport; Christian Owens, Office of Juvenile Justice; Joshua Adams, Timothy Kellogg Red River Parish Sheriff's Office; Eric Brooks Vivian Police Department.

The academy presented awards to cadets who performed exceptionally in four distinct areas. Deputy Joshua Adams was the academy's winner of the Firearms Award. Officer Chelsea Rhymes won the Academic Award. Deputy Martin Schaefer won the Physical Fitness Award, and Officer Eric Brooks was the Leadership Award winner. 

During the ceremony, a special moment occurred when family members were given the honor of pinning the cadets' badges for the first time. Sheriff Long administered the Oath of Office to the graduates shortly after.
