Wednesday, May 8, 2024
A Caddo Sheriff’s patrol deputy received minor injuries when his department vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle, said Sheriff Jay Long.
Around 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, Deputy Daniel Clayton was stopped at a red light in the 6900 block of West 70th Street when the driver of a dump truck approached from behind and failed to stop. The driver struck Clayton’s patrol car first, then hit a Kia Forte occupied by three people.
Due to the impact, the Forte was pushed into the intersection and crashed into a Mericle's tow truck.
All occupants involved were evaluated on scene by the Shreveport Fire Department. Clayton was taken to Willis Knighton-North for treatment of minor injuries. The occupants of the Forte were transported to Willis Knighton-South, and the driver of the dump truck was taken to Willis-Knighton Bossier. No serious injuries were reported at this time for any occupants involved.
