Update: Buncombe Rd. is now open to traffic.

One woman died and another transported to a hospital Monday morning after a vehicular crash on Buncombe Rd.

Just after 7 a.m. on Monday, Caddo Parish Sheriff's patrol deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Buncombe Rd. and Hwy. 169 in response to a major crash. According to patrol deputies, a Chevrolet Tahoe heading west crossed over the center line into the opposing lane, striking a Chevrolet Equinox head on. The driver of the Equinox died at the scene and the driver of the Tahoe was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Buncombe Rd. was completely shut down from Hwy. 169 to Simpson Rd. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
