Narcotics agents with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Shreveport man last week after they found $7,590 worth of drugs in his possession, said Sheriff Steve Prator. 

On Tuesday, November 22, The Caddo Parish Sheriff's K9 Unit, DEA Taskforce, ATF Task Force, FBI Task Force and the CPSO Patrol Division assisted CPSO narcotics agents with conducting a traffic stop and executing two search warrants on Emmanuel Barrett, 53. 

After pulling Barrett over, deputies found a child under the age of 13 in his car. K9 Deputy Bryant Mendolia also found 29 grams of methamphetamine and $784 in Barrett's pockets. Barrett tried to run away, but was unsuccessful. Agents proceeded to search Barrett's car and his home in the 9000 block of Mansfield road. In all, they seized 69 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $6900, 69 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $690, and $784 in cash.

Barrett was booked into Caddo Correctional Center charged with possession of schedule II with intent to distribute, resisting an officer, illegal use of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
