Caddo deputies rescued a Shreveport couple whose boat capsized in Caddo Lake this afternoon.
Theman and woman, ages 43 and 40, were fishing in an aluminum boat about 300 yards off the bank at Shady Rest Landing when their boat started to take on water. The couple called a family member for help, who in turn called the Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Donna Jackson of the sheriff’s Marine Unit responded during a rain storm with a boat housed at the north substation. Jackson found the couple in the water holding onto a tree. Their boat was flipped over and completely submerged.
The woman was not injured. The man was taken to North Caddo Hospital in Vivian to be checked out. Go Back
