A man who is currently serving time for breaking into the Rodessa Town Hall was also arrested Wednesday for a 2008 break-in at a Rodessa church, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
For the second time, DNA test results have connected Sylvester Reed, 44, of Rodessa,to the crime scene. Reed is currently serving a seven-year state sentence for burglarizing the town hall in 2007. Blood found at the scene was later matched to Reed.
Recent DNA results also matched Reed to blood found on a broken window at the First Antioch Baptist Church. On Wednesday, Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Donnie Laney obtained a warrant for Reed charging him with simple burglary of a religious building. Laney also placed a hold on Reed so that he will be returned to Caddo Parish to face the new charge following completion of his original sentence. Go Back
