Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said a woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance Monday night after she crashed her vehicle while texting and driving.
Shadreka Clark, 20, was traveling westbound in the 7400 block of Hwy. 538 when she ran her vehicle off the right side of the road and hit two mailboxes. She then traveled across the highway and hit a tree in the front yard of 7495 Hwy. 538.
Deputy James Norwood found an unfinished, unsent text message on the woman’s cell phone inside her vehicle. Clark was taken by ambulance to LSU Health Sciences Center.
Norwood issued Clark a summons to appear in court for reckless operation of a vehicle. She was also issued two citations: one for not wearing her seatbelt and one for cellular telephone use. Go Back
