Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator will host a bicycle rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 10, at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue. The event is for children attending first through fifth grade.
Sheriff’s deputies will be on hand to teach children proper bike safety and riding skills. Children will then be allowed to ride their bikes through Safety Town to practice their skills. Children are asked to bring their own bikes to participate.
The rodeo is free, but pre-registration is required. Each participant will receive a free bike helmet and knee and elbow pads from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
Parents can also benefit from this event by learning safe riding habits to reinforce at home.
