A Shreveport man has died following a head-on collision in south Caddo Parish this morning, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of Hwy. 1. Witnesses said the driver of a southbound Honda Civic crossed the center line and struck a northbound Mercedes, according to Sheriff’s Cpl. Timothy Johns.

The driver of the Honda was transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport but later died. The driver of the Mercedes was transported by Caddo Fire District #5 to Willis-Knighton Pierremont where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
