Man arrested in fatal hit and run

A Shreveport man was arrested today in connection with a hit and run fatality this past Saturday on LA 3132, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Zachary Dahl Sumlin, 46, turned himself in to the Caddo Sheriff's Office on a warrant obtained by Det. Jeremy Prudhomme. Sumlin was charged with one count of felony hit and run. His bond has been set at $100,000.
The victim, 37-year-old Raymond Abercrombie, Jr, was struck by Sumlin's vehicle as he walked on the shoulder of the eastbound lane of LA Hwy. 3132 near Walker Road. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. and Abercrombie was wearing dark clothing at the time. Sumlin left the scene and didn't call 911 until two hours later.
