An employee of Caddo Parish Sewer District #2 was arrested on Friday for stealing from the district office, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

An audit by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office revealed over $1,400 was unaccounted for between August and November 2018. An investigation by Sheriff’s Det. Mike King of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force determined that employee Susan Amaya was involved in the theft.

King said Amaya took cash payments from customers and kept the money for herself instead of properly depositing the funds.

Amaya, 53, of Greenwood, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft.
