A Shreveport man has been arrested for the rape of a 10-year-old child, said Sheriff Steve Prator. 

Jatavius Atkins, 21, of Shreveport was arrested following an investigation by Sheriff’s Detective Chris Ardoin. The victim disclosed to detectives, she was touched inappropriately and forced to have sex. The offenses occurred in 2015 when Atkins was seventeen and the victim was ten.

Jatavius Atkins was charged with first degree rape and sexual battery. He was booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
