Georgia man arrested for stealing money from night deposit boxes
A Georgia man was arrested on a Caddo Sheriff’s warrant for stealing money from several Shreveport apartment complexes, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
In September 2016, money orders were "fished" from the night deposit drop boxes of 10 apartment complexes. The money orders were altered, forged, and negotiated at different locations from Shreveport to Atlanta, GA. The total loss was $27,421.
An investigation by Sheriff’s Detective Casey Jones led to an arrest warrant being issued for 37-year-old Charles Rasean Epps. On March 1, Epps, of Stone Mountain, GA, was pulled over by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Epps gave a false name, but his identity was learned and he was arrested for two counts of giving a false name and one count of no proof of insurance.
On March 16, he was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center and charged with 10 counts of simple burglary, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.
