A California man was arrested for stealing over $5,000 from his Shreveport employer, according to Caddo investigators.

Brandon Edward Davis, 28, of Fontana, California was arrested for felony theft following an investigation by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Casey Jones.

Davis was employed at American Freight Furniture in Shreveport, where he was suspected of stealing five deposit bags of cash. Prior to the discovery of the missing deposit bags, Davis turned in his resignation and moved back to California. During the investigation, it was determined Davis was the last person in possession of the deposit bags. Detectives viewed recorded video surveillance of Davis leaving the business with the bags. The deposits were never recorded at the bank prior to Davis leaving for California.

Davis was arrested when he returned to Shreveport to collect his final paycheck and belongings. Davis was charged with felony theft and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
