Caddo Sheriff's deputies are investigating a crash that left two children injured this morning, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deputies were called to the 8300 block of Old Mooringsport Road at 11:30 a.m. where Lindsey Leigh Logan, 30, of Mooringsport was driving a Toyota Highlander northbound when she left the road and hit a tree. There were two backseat passengers - a 5-month-old baby girl and a 7-year-old girl. Neither was retrained. The baby was ejected through the front windshield.

Both children were taken to University Health by Caddo Fire District #1.

Logan was cited for two counts of child restraint violations and was issued a summons for two counts of negligent injury, but the crash remains under investigation by the CPSO Traffic Safety Unit, said Lt. Michael Gray.
