Former school bookkeeper arrested for theft

LEE, BRIDGET
DOB: 10/15/1963
Race: B   Sex: F
Height: 5.03   Weight: 190

A former bookkeeper at Woodlawn Leadership Academy was arrested today for felony theft and unauthorized use of a moveable, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Bridget Michelle Lee, 52, of the 2700 block of Ridge Lake Drive in Shreveport, surrendered herself on a warrant obtained by Sheriff’s Detective Yomeka Evans. Lee was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center this morning.

Evans began investigating the case in March after the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force was notified of possible irregularities following an audit at the school. A more detailed audit of school finances from August 2015 to February 2016 was conducted by the School Board and revealed a total loss of $11,446 from various school spirit accounts.

Lee is accused of taking cash from students and spirit sponsors but never depositing the money into the designated account. She also is accused of using funds from other spirit accounts without the knowledge and consent of the spirit sponsor or principal. That money was partially used to pay invoices issued to a school organization Lee sponsored (unauthorized use of a moveable).
