Caddo deputies responded to a gas leak near Pueblo Avenue and Norris Ferry Road late this morning after a logging company accidentally damaged a nearby gas line.

An employee of Hershell Malone Logging in Plain Dealing was operating a skidder when he accidentally ran over a line belonging to CenterPoint Energy.The rupture forced an evacuation of about five homes and stopped service of nearby KCS railway. The gas line was shut off for repairs, and residents were allowed to return their homes after about two hours, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
