Caddo deputies along with State troopers and Shreveport Police officers collected 648 lbs of unused prescription drugs this Saturday during our National Drug Take Back event at Sheriff's Safety Town, said Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator. 

Deputies and Police officers worked in co-operation with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) at Sheriff's Safety Town to collect the prescription drugs. The one day effort was held to bring national attention to the increase of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse and theft. These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety.
