Employee sells stolen wire from his workplace
A Bossier City man is behind bars for stealing electrical wire from his workplace and then selling the wire to customers, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
Clayborne Whittington, 27 of the 1600 block of Holiday Place in Bossier City, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft following an investigation by Caddo Detective Robert Presley.
For the past six months, Whittington was stealing electrical wire from his employer and selling the wire to his employer’s customers at a lower cost. The customers were unware the wire was stolen and were convinced by Whittington they were getting it at a discounted rate. Whittington tried to manipulate the paper work in an effort to conceal the theft. The employer lost $4,000 due to the theft.
