A cashier at a Vivian convenience store was arrested for stealing over $7,000 from the store, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Wendy Corbett, 40, was arrested on Wednesday and charged wtih felony theft for stealing cash from the 7&7 store between January and May of this year.

Sheriff's Detective Bobby Herring investigated the case and said Corbett took cash from the register after creating fraudulent returns. The store owner noticed the suspicious activity and contacted Vivian Police, which then notified the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.  

Corbett was booked into Caddo Correctional Center.
