Charles Smith, 41, was arrested by the Genesee County, NY, Sheriff's Department Wednesday on a Caddo Parish warrant charging him with ID theft and criminal conspiracy.

Smith was one of several suspects under investigation for a scheme in which over 1,200 stolen identities were used to open fraudulent cable accounts in Caddo Parish.

Smith is being held in the Genesee County, NY, Jail. He also faces charges in New York, so it is unsure when he will be returned to Caddo Parish to face the charges here.

Of the 11 total suspects in this case, eight are now in jail.
