Murder suspect Henry Robinson was returned to Caddo Parish today to face charges in connection with the 1988 death of Claudell Staten.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said Robinson exhausted all extradition hearings in Nevada. He was arrested on a Caddo Parish warrant in January after the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force found him living in the Las Vegas area.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Warrants Division and representatives of the Task Force escorted Robinson back here and booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center for principal to second-degree murder. His bond is set at $1 million.

Staten’s body was discovered by a passing motorist on Ellerbe Road north of Robson Road on March 20, 1988. He had been shot several times. Sheriff’s detectives said the 44 year old was shot during a struggle inside his moving car. He was left outside on the ground after the vehicle crashed.

Two other suspects in the case - Robinson’s brother Jake and their cousin Will “Roy” Rogers Robinson - were arrested on murder charges in December. Roy Robinson and Staten were brothers-in-law, said Sheriff’s Detective Terry Richardson, who investigated the cold case.

Jake Robinson is also charged with the 2004 murder of Harold Bruce Cotton. Both Jake and Roy are being held in the Caddo Correctional Center on $1 million cash bond.
