A Shreveport woman is in critical condition and her husband is in jail after she fell from the bed of the truck he was driving, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Allen Labon Wray, 46, of Bossier City, and his estranged wife, Sherri Wray, 48, spent the morning together Monday. Around 9 a.m. they stopped on a private drive near Brooks Road to talk. The couple was sitting on the truck's tailgate when Allen decided to leave, but Sherri remained in the truck bed. Sheriff’s Detective Jason Morgan investigated the case and said as Allen drove away he slammed on his breaks several times and then “gassed” the truck, causing Sherri to fall out of the back.

Sherri Wray was taken to University Health with serious injuries. Allen Wray was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for aggravated second-degree battery under the Family Domestic Violence Act and reckless operation.
