A bookkeeper for a 69-year-old legally blind man was arrested for the theft of assets of an aged or disabled person, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Anne Patin Barnes, 57, of the 200 block of Robinson Place, is accused of activating credit cards in the victim’s name and using them without his knowledge or consent. She also wrote numerous checks to herself and altered the ledgers to cover-up the fraudulent activity, said Sheriff’s Detective Yomeka Evans.

The thefts occurred between 2011 and 2014. The loss was $56,400.

Barnes was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
