A man is in jail for breaking into two north Shreveport businesses, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Joshua Deon Gay, 24, of Shreveport, was charged by Caddo detectives with breaking into Trejo's Mexican Restaurant on North Market Street and Taco Bell on North Port Boulevard early Monday morning. Detective Matt Purgerson said Gay and another man took cash registers from both businesses and an undisclosed amount of cash.

CPSO obtained video from the two businesses, which showed the suspects and their vehicle. The video was shared with Shreveport Police, which was investigating similar restaurant  burglaries.

Gay was arrested Wednesday by SPD at a residence in Shreveport. When he was transferred to Caddo Correctional Center, Purgerson added the Caddo charges.

Both burglaries remain under investigation, and charges are pending against one additional suspect.
