Caddo Sheriff's Office receives Belt Trauma Kit donation
Wednesday, June 18, 2014
Kellie Abbott, creator of the non-profit Blue Forever, donated 15 Belt Trauma Kits to the Caddo Sheriff's Office to help deputies involved in life-threatening emergencies.
Each BTK (Belt Trauma Kit) contains gloves, a CPR Shield, SWAT-T pressure tourniquet, and QuikClot Combat Gauze LE. The products in the kit rapidly and effectively stop bleeding with technology that has saved countless lives on the battlefield.
Kellie is a college student whose father, Wayne, is a Caddo deputy. Through her Blue Forever non-profit, she has raised over $23,000 to purchase Belt Trauma Kits and has donated 336 kits to nine agencies.
