Caddo Sheriff’s detectives arrested a woman today for cashing in stolen poker chips valued at $3,500, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The victim was playing poker at Sam’s Town Casino on March 21 when several El Dorado chips fell from his jacket pocket. Seconds later, 45-year-old Delma Fuggins was seen crawling under the victim’s chair to pick up the four chips. Later, when the victim finished his game and stood up, he found one of his chips in his seat and alerted security that the other chips were missing.

Sheriff’s Detective Andy Scoggins investigated the case and said Fuggins tried to cash in the chips minutes later at Sam’s Town but couldn’t since they were from another casino. Fuggins then went to El Dorado and cashed them in.

Scoggins obtained a warrant for Fuggins’ arrest on a theft charge. She was arrested by the Caddo Sheriff’s Warrants Unit this morning at her residence on Post Oak in Shreveport and was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
