Two burglars were arrested by Caddo sheriff’s deputies today after their get-away car got stuck in the mud, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Lots of Treasures, a thrift shop on Hwy. 1 North, was broken into around 4:30 a.m. this morning. The suspects backed a GMC Envoy to the side door and loaded it with furniture and electronics. When they tried to leave, the vehicle got stuck in the mud, according to Detective Chris Daniel.

Deputies got a lead on their suspects about two hours later when a concerned citizen reported two suspicious men at a nearby business. Patrol deputies responded and detained the suspects who had muddy shoes and muddy flashlights. Daniel said prints from the shoes matched prints left at the scene.

Arrested were John Patterson, 49, of Vivian, and Michael Anderson, 61, of the 1500 block of Russell Road in Shreveport. Both men were booked into Caddo Correctional Center for simple burglary.
