Store cashier arrested for theft
Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Caddo sheriff’s detectives arrested a discount store cashier for stealing from his employer, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Michael Johnson, 29, of 3555 Cedar Creek Drive in Shreveport, was booked into the City Jail on Monday for theft. He is awaiting transfer to the Caddo Correctional Center.
Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring, who arrested Johnson, said Johnson was employed as a cashier at Wal-Mart on Bert Kouns, where he loaded gift cards without paying for them. Johnson used another employee’s register log-in code to load more than $1,000 onto three gift cards.
