A Blanchard women and her husband were arrested Thursday for stealing from the women’s deceased father’s Estate, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Teresa Brumley, 52, and Charles Brumley, 56, of the 7000 block of Millwood Drive, are accused of stealing more than $170,000 from Teresa Brumley’s mentally infirm father. The two were able to misappropriate over $60,000 while the father was alive and committed forgeries and other acts of fraud to obtain over $100,000 after his death. The money was supposed to go to the Estate, said Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring.

Teresa Brumley was also accused of stealing $12,000 from her interdicted mother, who has been confined to a nursing facility since 2009.

Detective Herring obtained arrest warrants for Teresa and Charles Brumley, charging them both with felony theft.Teresa Brumley was taken into custody at her home Thursday afternoon and was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Charles Brumley turned himself in to the Caddo Sheriff’s Office Thursday evening. He was also  booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. His bond was set at $10,000.
