Bookkeeper arrested for theft
Thursday, November 21, 2013
A Blanchard woman who was employed as a bookkeeper at EMDUB Productions was arrested Wednesday for embezzling from the company, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
Lisa Maria Jones, 33, of the 5800 block of Tom Ridge, is accused of stealing over $10,000. Jones issued herself 61 fraudulent checks and altered the accounting registry in an effort to conceal the thefts.
Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring obtained a warrant for Jones’ arrest, and she was taken into custody at her home on Wednesday evening. She was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a felony theft charge. Her bond was set at $10,000.
EMDUB Productions is a Shreveport business that produces and distributes the local real estate guide.
