Teller arrested for theft and forgery
Tuesday, June 25, 2013
A teller at a local credit union was arrested for theft and forgery after an audit showed she stole over $11,000, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
Sherita Gibson was employed by Northwest Louisiana FCU where she altered accounting logs and forged customers’ signatures to fictitious withdrawal slips to conceal the theft. Gibson is accused of stealing $11,600. A surprise audit showed the cash shortage.
Gibson, 52, of Bossier City, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center following an investigation by Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring with the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.
